They work with a door co. and sell Aluminum and Steel ones. Also, just for doors, there is a place that sells "seconds", Harvey & Fils in St-Hubert, 3055 rue Harvey. There are some leftovers overstocks from construction sites. Q: I'd like to give my son and his family a session with a studio photographer To make it easier on them, I'd like to find someone who does sessions in the family home. [Barbara Black - 2006-08-02]A: I have not done a column on this but can suggest 3 photographers: Dominic Colavecchio 514-696-9356, Drummond Jacquot 514-990-5226 or Jeanie Trubiano 514-696-1175. Q: Van Dyck studio, located at, 1121 Ste-Catherine, closed shop a few years ago. He did some restorative work on an old photograph, and of course kept the negative. If possible, I would like to obtain it, or a copy. Where do retired photographers send their life's work? [Lisa, Montreal - 2006-07-26]A: They take their negatives with them or sell them as part of the business if they sold the business. There isn't an old negative library. Find out who bought the business (if it was sold). Either go to the address and ask or find out through the city. Look him up personally in the phone book too. I believe you can go backwards and make a negative from the photograph and as well, you can have excellent copies made nowadays without a negative. Q: I have dozens of old records and unfortunately, a stereo system that no longer works. I am looking to find a place or someone that can record these LPs onto CDs. Do you know of such a source or contact?
